Removal of paraurethral tissue

Definition:
Removal of urethral and / or periurethral tissues linked to exuberant scar tissue or any injury or tissue of any genesis that compromises the function or morphology of the urethra.

Indications:
The procedure is most often proposed in the interval between the 1st and 2nd time of a staged urethroplasty, when it may be necessary to perform surgical procedures for the revisions of urethral stoma and urethral linings due to the formation of scar tissue, granulomas, hairs.

Technical Description:
Such interventions are performed in loco-regional or general anesthesia or under sedation.
The technique is usually related to the type of intervention, and sometimes it can be changed during the surgical procedure in relation to the state of the tissues to be removed and adjacent tissues.

Duration of the procedure:
These interventions generally last about 30 minutes.

Type and length of stay:
The hospitalization lasts for 1-2 days.
